Callahan Speedway
We are a no-alcohol and no profanity facility. We have far to many children playing and watching the races to allow this kind of behavior.
We will always try to race on saturday nites/afternoons, in the event of rain we will first try and race the day before or the day after, if the weather does not allow for this we will then re-schedule for the following week.
Callahan Speedway
SUMMER Points Series
Our points series will begin April 17th.
Please watch our web site for futher event schedules, www.callahanspeedway.com.
Results and points will be posted on web site each week. Be aware of our track
rules, ex. If you are black flaged in feature event, you will receive no points
for the event. Etc….
Each class will be paid back as follows, Minimum average of 5 karts per week
will payback 1st place only, Minimum average of 10 karts per week will payback
to 2nd place, and a minimum of 15 karts or more will payback to 3rd place. We
will be giving each 1st place class winner an embroidered racing jacket with his
or hers name embroidered on the back, and Callahan Speedway Summer series champ on the front. In classes where the minimum average of karts
are not running each week, we will payback a prize to the 1st place winner that
equals to the amount of karts that race per week in that class.
If an event is rained out, The next scheduled points race will be Double
features that day.
Each Kart must weigh at the end of every heat race and at the end of the feature
event in order to maintain finishing spot, If the driver and kart by pass the
scales after the heat, or feature event he or she will be scored as DNW, "did
not weigh", there will be only 1 exception to this, the driver and kart can
weigh before the event only if he or she is running in 2 classes back to back.
"CLAIMER RULE FOR BOX STOCK AT CALLAHAN SPEEDWAY"
If you finish the race in the top 3 and weigh out you may
claim the winners engine for $200 less the add on accessories. Engine will be
teched and when found legal its yours. If the winner refuses Tech/claimer rule
he/she will be expelled from that class for the remainder of the current points
series we are running. If the engine is found illegal the protester/claimer gets
there claimer fee back. The penalty for an illegal engine is DQ for that nites
event or events that said engine runs in that nite. When claiming an engine you
must claim as soon as race ends, and can only be claimed by the driver of a kart
finishing in the top 3 spots.
To be eligible for end of points awards you must run 8 of the ten events. There will be 2 mandatory drop races for everyone, the 2 drops will be the 2 lowest points nites of the series that you run. If you have a DQ for the nite for any infraction this will not be considered as a drop race for you at the end of the points series. Example: If you only run 8 races you will get 2 zeros as your drop, if you run 7 races you will get 2 zeros, if you run all 10 races u will lose your 2 lowest points races of the series.
